ある研究会で話題になったデジタル化以降の写真論。具体的な内容とマッピングはこちらの論文を参照するとして、2010年代前後のデジタル写真論には監視や認証、測定や医療といった個別の観点からアプローチするのがいいかもしれないということに。

まず、第二次ともいえるデジタル写真論のアンソロジー。上記の関心に引きつければ、写真×ネットワーク論（Garde-Hansen）、スタジオ写真論（Lien）、修整写真（Sheehan）、モバイル写真論（Shanks&Svado）など。

Digital Snaps: The New Face of Photography (International Library of Visual Culture)

以下は第二版で改版しており、上記よりもやや理論よりか。反表象論（Rubinstein&Sluis）、ゲーム×シミュレーション（Giddings）、ＡＩ×写真（Kember, Bate）、コンピュータ×写真（Frosh, Palmer）など。Froshは早くに単著や自撮り論も。

今世紀までの議論を手際よくまとめた以下のうち、ハンドは強い考えを打ち出すことはないものの、アナログ／デジタルの「緩やかな断絶説」が説得的に感じる。後者の共著本は短めの論文の集積で読みやすく、ルフのJpeg論やGoogle Street View論などを展開している。プリントベースの従来の写真論（とプロジェクトベースの映画論）を批判したうえで、Soft Imageなるものは静止画と動画の折衷ないし発展となるようだ。
